Online Application Form For The NSVRC Septic Pump-out Program

The Northern Shenandoah Valley Regional Commission (NSVRC), in partnership with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Onsite Wastewater as the selected service provider, is offering a Septic Pump-Out Program to qualifying households in Clarke, Frederick, and Shenandoah Counties. The program helps reduce pollution risks associated with failing septic systems in our region’s karst topography, protecting local groundwater and the Chesapeake Bay. Funding is provided through the IIJA and DEQ's Chesapeake Bay Watershed Implementation Program.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify, households must:

  • Have income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI) for their respective county.
  • Agree to complete a brief online septic training course.
  • Agree to maintain the septic system, including arranging and paying for any additional pump-outs needed within five years after receiving this program service.

Eligible households may receive one free septic system pump-out, subject to available funding.
